Relaxation Therapy and Guided Meditation

Its easy to relax when you know how to, but almost impossible if you don't! Many people visit Roseanna, not because they have a problem that they want to cure, but simply to relax and get away from the pressures of day to day modern living. In a single session you will be guided by Roseanna's soothing voice into a lovely, relaxing, meditative state. It has been likened by many clients to a "mental massage", leaving you feeling relaxed, restored and prepared to face the world head on! Roseanna can also record the session for you so you can "escape" at home as well.

Creative Visualisation

You may think that you have a poor imagination or that you can't visualise. But everyone does possess this ability. Unfortunately we are usually more aware of this ability when placed in a negative situation. For example, whenever you don't want something to happen, or you are afraid of something, big pictures in technicolour usually flash into your mind of exactly that thing.

Roseanna will assist you in relaxing and visualising to achieve a positive goal. Nearly all modern day athletes utilise visualisation techniques. During the Ryder Cup 2004 there was much commentary on the fact that once an activity has been learned in practice, 80% of the difference between winning and losing is in the mind. Whether you are an athlete who wants to have a winning edge or simply someone who would like to have a winning edge in ANY area of your life, you can be shown how to quickly and easily visualise your goal and program your mind to achieve it.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is an extremely pleasant, relaxing, day-dreamy state, when the conscious mind becomes pre-occupied and gently remote but still aware of what is happening around it. While in hypnosis, you do not go to sleep and you remain aware of everything that is happening around you. You cannot be made to do anything against your will while in hypnosis. Anyone can be hypnotised providing that they cooperate, with the exception of young children under the age of 6 or 7 and people heavily under the influence of drink or drugs.

Conscious Hypnosis

Roseanna often utilises the technique of conscious hypnosis with therapy. This method does not employ a formal hypnotic induction but rather an indirect (Ericksonian) approach which is extremely effective. You will feel wide awake and suggestion is buried in apparently normal conversation. It would only be with the benefit of hindsight that you may realise this method had been used.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis in itself is not a treatment; it is a relaxed state of mind which provides an excellent environment for the application of various therapies to provide a quick, powerful and lasting change in a person.

Over the years many famous people have used hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Some examples include Mozart, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Henry Ford, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, Kevin Costner, Bobby Davro, Frank Bruno and Greg Rusedski.

Hypnotherapy is used to gain an understanding of the unconscious processes that keep you trapped in the patterns of behaviour which you want to escape from. These patterns are often described as something inside yourself but outside your conscious control - you know what you should or shouldn't do but you continue doing what you are used to doing habitually. Once those unconscious processes are identified and understood they can, with Roseanna's help, be adjusted at a conscious level to find more positive patterns of thought and behaviour. Once this has been achieved, hypnosis is then used to make these new patterns unconscious - so that you act in accordance with the new model instinctively and automatically.

One session, more often than not, is all that is required. Further sessions may be needed to enhance the work already done, depending on the problem and how receptive a person is to this type of therapy.

This type of suggestion therapy is used for stopping smoking, losing weight, nail biting, sports enhancement and one-off situations such as pre-test or exam nerves.

Hypno-Analysis

Hypno-Analysis is used for more complex symptoms where an underlying problem is suspected. Problems are formed and developed as we make our way through life as a result of how we experience particular events. Hypno-Analysis gives you an opportunity to reflect back and re-experience events from your past, to heal and resolve any conflicts that lie at the root of your problem. This therapy is based on the belief that the mind has the ability to repress unpleasantness and that when this happens a symptom will form. A person will experience relief from their symptoms when they confront the cause of their problem.

This process usually takes six separate 50 minute sessions set about a week apart.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming

NLP has been described as the new science of personal achievement. It is a highly effective methodology based on the belief that all behaviour has a structure and that this structure can be modelled, learned and changed. Neuro stands for the nervous system and how we use our senses to translate experience into both conscious and unconscious thought processes. Linguistic stands for the use of language in interpreting experiences and how we communicate those experiences.

NLP is how we understand and utilise human communication, behaviour and experiences to achieve a specific outcome. It has evolved into an incredibly powerful set of techniques for achieving human excellence in both business and personal development. It is a very useful tool used in rapidly dissolving a phobia, or overcoming compulsions. Roseanna utilises NLP tools and techniques to make very fast and effective therapeutic interventions, as well as in programming you for success. Usually only one or two sessions are necessary.

It was the work of Milton Erickson (world renowned psychotherapist and hypnotherapist) that formed the foundation of a lot of NLP, thus its close association with hypnosis.

Most people in the UK have seen Paul McKenna on television assisting people in curing phobias ranging from arachnophobia (fear of spiders) to fear of flying in as little as 1 hour using such hypnosis / NLP techniques.
