With SAD, it has been shown that treatments focusing on changing thoughts have a better long-term effect than just light therapy. It is important to learn to short circuit negative thinking patterns.

Your thoughts create your emotions and your actions. Put another way, how you think affects how you feel and thus what you do. Our thoughts affect our moods. And as you can learn to change your thoughts, you will inevitably change your mood.
