Confidence isn't something that you are born with and neither is lack of confidence. Confidence or lack of confidence is learned behaviour, and what is learnt can be unlearnt. Not everything we learn is correct, appropriate or true.
When you have confidence, you believe in yourself and your own ability to succeed in life. Your confidence is based on your beliefs. A belief is a habitual thought pattern, so habitual that it has become instinctive and forms part of your self image. Confidence is based on your thoughts.
